Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone in the World. This celebration is celebrated by everyone in the World regardless of where are you from. What a lovely celebration.

This year, today, 14 February 2014 is a utmost special day for us. The western Valentine's Day co-incide with the Chinese Valentine's Day. I don't think this special day has happened before in the entire of my life. Not sure, maybe it does when I was still young and I've not known what is a Valentine's Day.

I've not celebrated any Valentine's Day with my love one ever before this. I broke up with my ex before the Valentine's Day comes. So I missed it. Oh well. When will I have my valentine?

In this Chinese New Year, I've lou sang for three times. The most times in the entire of my life. I've not made many wishes this year other than good health and be safe. Seriously. Why didn't I made a wish that I could have my valentine soon? This is so stupid. I should have. Today is the last day of Chinese New Year, no more lou sang, no more chance to make the wish. Aiks.

So yes, as usual, no one be my valentine on this special day. All these years I've been keeping a hope that I could have the chance to celebrate this special day with one of my best bro-friend. I've not said this out ever before. I was in love with my this bro-friend since high school. We were together all the time in school and have many fun times. We have gone to different path and he has got his life with his girl friend and not pursuing anything further with me. Oh well, they are now getting married and deepest in my heart, I wish them happily living after. Seriously.

I've got another friend, I'm not sure what's my feelings towards him but I'm actually good to have him as my love ones. But he has gone through a short relationship together with his ex who is also my friend, a close one. They broke up with mutual agreement but I'm not sure if it is right for me to pursue to further my relationship with him. I don't think he has anything towards me but maybe one day later? I don't know. I dare not even talk to him on this special day but I could feel that he was hugging me very tightly when we were taking pictures together last night. Friends hug perhaps?

Hope things goes well. I do not wish to put in too much hope as the higher the hope, the more disappointment you will get.

Anyways, Happy Valentine's Day once again.

Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year is around the corner.

I've been very busy since the start of the year. I am working through day and night with serious sleep deprived. I was commented to have a "peak period" look. Oh yes, peak period in my industry means the busiest season of the year. I don't see it as peak or off peak. I'm in the peak period whenever I'm working.

This Chinese New Year falls on a weird timing. Two public holidays falls within the same period and I've lost a day of leave. That aside. Chinese New Year is the celebration of the new lunar calendar for the year. It's the year of Horse this year. My year. Two cycle has passed and I'm getting older. Oh dear...

Seriously wishing that it will be a good year for me.

Sending you a photo of lion dance. Wishing all Chinese in the world, Happy Chinese New Year and a prosperous new year ahead!!

Trip to Koh Samui, Thailand

This is such a long awaited blog post. Too many things happened in the month of December until I really do not have the time to update about my trip to Koh Samui in December 2013.

Visiting Koh Samui was my third beach holiday in year 2013. The "Koh" in Thai means Island, so this is Samui Island in English. I only get to know about it when I was on a tour by the locals. This island is well known for it's beautiful scenery and sea.

I gotten the offer to travel to Koh Samui from a Matta Fair 2013 promotion. It was a promotion by Bangkok Airways. Flying with Bangkok Airways is really satisfying. Seriously. It's a boutique airline in Thailand. Not budget. Yay! How cool isn't it? This airline has some collaboration with Malaysia Airlines and so it departs from KLIA.

Being a boutique airline, even though it is just a an hour and a half journey, they strive to serve us with good food too.

As we reached Samui International Airport, the airport were quite small and do not have a modern terminal gate for the passengers to walk through but have to walk down the stair case from the plane. But we are not required to walk to the terminal by our foot. They have a buggy ride for us!

At the airport, there are booths set up. I immediately got a local sim card in order to get connected to 3G internet whenever I go. Okay, I know I sounded so desperate. That's what the current generation like isn't it?

At the arrival hall, we waited for our hotel's airport transfer to pick us up. The guy who came and picked us was quite friendly. He talked to us throughout the journey. He explained to us whereabout of the place we were passing by. It took us just a 10 mins journey to arrive at our hotel - Chaba Samui Resort at Chaweng Town.

This hotel has two wings, being the lake wing and the ocean wing. We stayed at the ocean wing by obtaining an upgrade as we have got less one person to stay at the hotel. The two wings are actually separated by a narrow road which is only one way street.

At the back of ocean wing is the Chaweng Beach.

Beautiful, ain't it?

Koh Samui is a very small island. I suppose they have a very small population as well. I see tourists everywhere! The tourists from the west love our eastern islands and sunshine I guess.

The things we did in Koh Samui were shopping, massage, island hopping, sightseeing and last but not least food feast of course!!

Our shopping destination revolves around the Chaweng Town, being the biggest town in the island. We were really glad that we are staying right in the middle of Chaweng Town. How strategic huh! Going up north, we have various shops and stalls along both sides of the road. Among one of the Thai restaurants we have tried is Will Wait Restaurant.

The restaurant is quite crowded with tourists during our visit.

We are a dual person trip and so we have ordered few dishes to share.

The Sing Ha beer! Being the local Thai Beer. The beer there serves at low price. I see everyone drink beer all the time.

Thai coconut! The most expensive coconut I've ever had! It costs 80 baht!

Our main dishes, Tom Yam Kung! The spices are really good!

Pad-Thai!

Pineapple fried rice!

Drooling? LOL! The bill from Will Wait Restaurant was quite hilarious. Seriously, I was expecting lower priced food but apparently I'm wrong.

Luckily enough, we have found another place which served much tastier Thai food and at a much cheaper price, i.e. 3 times lower price than that! It's at the Chaweng Walking Street.

Chaweng Walking Street is located down south in Chaweng Town. We have to walk until we saw Krungsri Bank. The Chaweng Walking Street is just along the ally next to the bank.

The Chaweng Walking Street has food stalls as well as stalls selling various items.

This is such a crowded place. We have had the best food we found in Samui here. We ordered our food from a stall in between.

That was the best tom yam kung we've had seriously. No doubt that's the most recommended place to visit - Chaweng Walking Street!

Drooling? Alright. No worries, I'll stop my post here. I'll post another time on other stuff we've visited in Koh Samui. Stay tuned!

Hello December!

Hello December!!

December is a month of celebration, celebration of joyous moments with family and friends. December 2013 is a like a summer holiday to me. I've finally have a month off from work after a long year of work. Feeling really appreciative for this month.

December this year is not only a year end holiday for me, but also an eventful month. There will be my sister's wedding ceremony. I'm such a terrible sister here. I've not helped a single thing with such complicated things around with the wedding ceremony. Besides, I will be going for a few days trip off from the country with my best friend and buddies to a beautiful sunshine place. Also, I will be teaching for the first time in my life in my company. What a great experience I will be having in this month. I'm so looking forward for it.

Happy holiday for myself and of course everyone else.

Merry Christmas!!

The masterpiece of ours

Recently, my sister learnt flowers arrangement and she has gone for few occasions to assist in the flower arrangement service to decorate the locations.

It's her own occasion now and she has made a few flower arrangement for herself. Look at how lovely is it!

I'm just so lucky to get the chance to capture flowers. How do they look?

Joss sticks at the temple

We often see joss sticks at the temple. People who pray at the temple will burn joss sticks to the God of Honour of the temple they are at.

I don't go to temple very often but I will do once in a while. Some will go on every first day and the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar. It depends on individual culture and belief I suppose.

I don't know a lot about the Chinese religion background but I thought it is good to get some blessings from the God of Honour at the temple I used to visit.

The temple I visit is often visited by overseas tourists and I find it interesting to see the Englishmen being so interested with our culture and take that as a scene of photography. I've decided to be one today as well. I hope my shot taken is not that bad.

Enjoy.

Sony Nex-3N

Being an amateur photographer, I've recently upgraded to a semi-pro camera - Sony NEX-3N.

I've been practising photography few years ago but I've been using ordinary digital camera. My first digital camera was bought when I was 16. Subsequently, I've been using three other digital cameras thereafter by slowly upgrading them through the specification which I wanted. The reason being for not having an upgrade to a better camera is that I can only afford digital cameras.

In recent years, semi-pro cameras are getting lower price and hence, I've finally gotten a great deal from a camera shop to get the new Sony NEX-3N, a Sony Alpha camera. The package comes with kit lens (16mm - 55mm) and zoom lens (55mm - 210mm).

This camera comes with 16.1 megapixel Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor which deliver images of DSLR quality. The quality of each photo captured does satisfy me.

There is another advantage of this Sony Alpha camera. Sony Malaysia provides workshops and events for Sony Alpha camera user. As this is the first camera of mine which uses manual settings, the workshops provided is an advantage for users like me!

Picking up photography is a skill that has a very abstract learning space. I wish this camera will help me to progress well into photography and of course one day later I will upgrade into a full DSLR camera.

Flickr

Flickr

I was recently been introduced to Flickr by a friend of mine. I was told that I could get a lot of inspiration by looking at the photographs shared by people around the world.

For the first time I logged in into Flickr, I used the mobile app on Android. I was truly amazed with all the photos shared.

Creating an account in Flickr is easy too! Just login using Facebook account or Google account. You can also login using Yahoo! account.

Amazing app, amazing people, amazing photographs. Good stuff.
