Happy Winter Solstice 冬至快乐

Winter Solstice or Dōng Zhì (冬至) is the celebration of the arrival of winter. The Chinese will celebrate it with the Glutinous Rice Ball or tāng yuán (汤圆) which symbolises unity of a family.

This year, my family do not buy the glutinous flour to make tāng yuán but bought frozen tāng yuán. It's tastier and bigger! Haha!

Anyway, Happy Winter Solstice everyone!

老油鬼鬼 I love YOO!

I was having a sudden cravings for porridge. Guess it's because I was a little unwell but wish to have some good food. I was in Mid Valley Megamall and I remembered seeing a porridge stall at the LG floor and I decided to head for it.

It is a stall located in between all the food stalls. It is next to the ShiLin stall.

It's specialty is to serve You Tiao, which is also known as Chinese Cruller or Chinese Bread Stick. It is commonly served with porridge or bak kut teh. To be honest, this you tiao and porridge served by I love YOO! is quite tasty. I do like it but for such a small serving at the price of RM4.30, I think it's a little overpriced as I'm pretty sure we can get a tastier and bigger portion porridge and you tiao at the hawker stall centre at cheaper price. However, I think it's somewhat still worth the value as we are having the food at the cleaner and more comfortable environment.

Stall location:
LG-K-16,
The Gardens Mall,
Linkaran Syed Putra,
59200 Kuala Lunpur.

I love YOO! is also located at various locations. Do visit their website for more details.

Holding hands through the time

We have always been sharing the same knowledge source under the same roof, same four walls. We never spoke to each other but were always been called by names. My eyes were always attracted to him as he has a similar faced girl beside him all the time. What relationship are they having? I was always curious about them.

Till we started our adulthood working in a corporation, we met again and we worked closely with each other. We see each other more than anyone else. We talked, we stared, we laughed, etc together. I enjoyed the time together with him. I always asked myself, what are we? What is my feelings towards him? Honestly I don't know. Many people would have thought that we have a very special relationship. Fret not. We are just friends. He has a long tern, stable, close and similar faced girl friend.

In one occasion, we were playing a game. He held my hand. Many things run through my mind. What's the feeling I was having at that time? Do I wish to have such hand held throughout my life?

I'm really confused. The incident was already passed two weeks. But I'm still thinking of it. Was that hand held given me a strike in my mind to think about what I want for my love?

Thoughts.

小霸王 Xiao Bar Wang

The commonly known Taiwan Mee Sua in Malaysia is by 士林 ShiLin. In recent years, another Taiwan Mee Sua store has come up with few branches in the country.

The mee sua served by Xiao Bar Wang is with pork meatball rather than oyster. The chilli sauce added in the mee sua is hilariously spicy. Try request for the chilli sauce to be served separately instead of mixing it into the mee sua in order to adjust the spiciness in the servings. The mee sua is also less starchy. I thought this is more healthy.

The Xiao Bar Wang store which I've visited is in 1 Utama. A small little shop serving few other kinds of food in their menu. I've not tried them all but I suppose the mee sua would be the best.

Hello December!

Hello December!!

December is a month of celebration, celebration of joyous moments with family and friends. December 2013 is a like a summer holiday to me. I've finally have a month off from work after a long year of work. Feeling really appreciative for this month.

December this year is not only a year end holiday for me, but also an eventful month. There will be my sister's wedding ceremony. I'm such a terrible sister here. I've not helped a single thing with such complicated things around with the wedding ceremony. Besides, I will be going for a few days trip off from the country with my best friend and buddies to a beautiful sunshine place. Also, I will be teaching for the first time in my life in my company. What a great experience I will be having in this month. I'm so looking forward for it.

Happy holiday for myself and of course everyone else.

Merry Christmas!!

What is Gen-Y expecting?

Gen-Y. I am myself born in Gen-Y, the years between late 1970s and mid 1990s.

There are many publications talking about Gen-Ys on how these bunch of people reacted in the reality world etc, especially employers.

Gen-Y wants high income less work...
Gen-Y wants flexible working arrangements...
Gen-Y wants more time commitments on social media....
Gen-Y spends the moment they earn....
Gen-Y doesn't know how to save...

Etc.
Etc.

Oh well. Here's what I thought.

Gen-Ys are those lucky kids whereby their parents would have strived to earn as much money as they could in order to give themselves and their children better and more comfortable life. Perhaps this could have given the kids to think that money come into our pocket so easily and they taken all these for granted. I have few friends, their daily pocket money or even shopping pocket money from their parents during school days is already more than what they would have earned by themselves. Of course these guys thinks that employers are not paying them enough! Look! What is the cause to this phenomenon?

Alright, maybe everyone may think differently. I do agree that our employers are not paying us enough with the escalation of living costs these days. I believe all these are chain effect and income will never be higher than living costs. Once we are paid higher, our employer will definitely factor all these increased in costs into their products they sell and subsequently affecting the consumers and hence, increase in living costs again. It's a forever and ever kind of thing.

Myself, I've never live in the high pocket money life. What I'm earning now give myself a fair bit of comfortable life. I can have things which I wish to have without thinking too much. I can say that I spend like nobody business. I don't save much as I have nothing much to save after the monthly fixed commitment and spendings.

Well, I do agree that commentators have been saying that Gen-Ys do not save. Saving, is an important part of financial management but how much to save it's all depends on what is the appetite of each individuals. No one can comment on this. my point of view is that why must you sacrifice in your spendings to make your life comfortable and happy while you can? Life is so fragile and no one would ever know what will happen in the next moment. Albeit you have saved a million dollars and you have not enjoyed your life all these years just because you want to save the money, and in the end of the day you do not have the life/strength to enjoy what you have saved for your later life. What's the point then?

Perhaps many baby boomers will think differently from what Gen-Y does, but the world has evolved and things have changed. There's no right or wrong in everything. It's all depends on how you put things together.

Live or leave?

Live or leave?

Live, it means live on and continue where you are.
Leave, it means leave from where you are.

To decide whether to live or leave is a very hard decision. Many of the times, I have had the thought of leaving. I do not want to stay in the place anymore. I want to go to a place where I could do something that I want. But, what do I want to do?

To live on, I was wondering if I can handle all these which I will be facing in the near future.

I wish I will continue to receive powerful support from the right persons.

The masterpiece of ours

Recently, my sister learnt flowers arrangement and she has gone for few occasions to assist in the flower arrangement service to decorate the locations.

It's her own occasion now and she has made a few flower arrangement for herself. Look at how lovely is it!

I'm just so lucky to get the chance to capture flowers. How do they look?

Social media in recent days

In recent days, almost everyone has got a smartphone or a tablet, if not a computer. As such, these people can't seem to live without social media apps and of course myself!

Look at these social media apps on which have been installed in my smartphone.

Facebook - A must have social media app to me. On Facebook, I've got many friends who are living all around the world. We do not meet each other for a real long time but Facebook has given me the chance to know what is happening to my friends.

Facebook Messenger - This app is part and parcel of Facebook app which allows me to chat with friends on Facebook.

Instagram - An app to post interesting photographs with various filters. It links to Facebook and Twitter.

Hangouts - This app used be to known as "Google Talk" or we commonly called it GTalk. I started using GTalk since I started working. My seniors likes using GTalk while talking to each other. Hmmm... for some reasons. Recently, Google has come out with Hangouts that replaces GTalk. It's a little difficult to adapt with the new app honestly. My contacts in my earlier GTalk has gone missing and I have to manually add in our contacts one by one. I do not really appreciate this thing.

Twitter - I used to twit a lot when this app firstly launched. Unlike Facebook, it is mainly an app that allows its users to post a short note. It is now an app for me to know the latest news as I've followed many news page.

Weibo - This is like a Chinese Twitter. This app is quite awesome. Many artistes from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong has official accounts on this media. It allows me to follow these artistes and I get updates about them through this space. Quite cool! There are also various interesting accounts that gives me good reads.

Skype - Skype is commonly used by people for video call over the computer. Honestly speaking, I've not used the app on my phone. I'm not sure why did I even install it. LOL!

Line - This app is just another messenger app but it comes with very cute stickers. However, another interesting part of Line is that it comes with few side games. You can send any game requests to your contacts on Line.

Pintrest - This is an interesting app. It allows us to pin any pictures onto the wall. You can also repin other's pictures as well by categorising them into various category. Oh well, I hardly use this app but I will still browse through it when I'm bored.

WeChat - This app is quite similar to Line app. The interesting part of this app is that you can add and chat with anyone in the world. What you need to do is just searching by shaking your phone or let the phone identify users using GPS function. That's sounded cool but I'm refraining from that. I will not chat with strangers too easily.

Viber - This is an app which is commonly use for voice call via internet data. It is useful when you have unlimited internet data else it wouldn't help much in cost saving.

Last but not least, Whatsapp! Looks like many people can't live without this app anymore. This app has almost replaced the traditional SMS. It's like an all time app where we will be chatting, sending pictures, emoticons, voice messages, etc.

There are countless applications on Google Play or iTunes for social media. How many of them are really very popular among the users around the world?

Mama Kitchen Restaurant @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI)

I was introduced to Mama Kitchen many years ago and I visit this place quite frequently. I finally decided to have a review on this restaurant.

As the label of the restaurant suggest, it serves good loh see fun. I seriously come here for only one or two dishes.

More often than not, my family will start to order without looking at the menu as we have known what is good here. What I want to give a praise here is the sambal chilli sauce. I personally think it's really good and matches the taste of the loh see fun well.

I'm a garlic fan and often request for garlic and mix them with the sambal chilli sauce.

Here comes the big sized pot of lou see fun! Look at the freshness of the egg. The pot comes with minced pork and some prawns.

Other than loh see fun, my mum just loves having cantonese fried noodle. Their cantonese fried noodle is not bad actually.

These two dishes are actually up to my expectation. One bad thing about this restaurant is they can be inconsistent at times. One time may be very delicious, the other time may be disappointing. But I still will revisit the place after some time hoping that there is some surprises. In fact, this time of my visit, with the above photos, they taste good and satisfying.

The restaurant is located in TTDI.

Nyonya Restaurant at SS2

There are few restaurants in SS2 serving nyonya cuisine. I recently visited the Nyonya Restaurant at Jalan SS2/24, Petaling Jaya.

The ambience of the restaurant gives me a very calm feeling. Guess that's the effect of their colourful Nyonya arts in the whole space.

We have ordered a few dishes and they came by to have all spicy dishes. Woah! Such a tongue tester to me.

Sayur Paku dish with shrimp. To be honest, I rarely have the chance to eat paku and I never know how tasty this greeneries is until I have this plate of dish.

Here comes the Curry Kapitan. Look at the gravy! Oh my gawd! Best of the best! This is the type of gravy I love.

Sambal Petai. I seriously want to give a thumbs-up to the owner of the restaurant. Petai comes with two different species, one is Petai Padi and another is Petai Papan. Both have the pungent smell which many people dislike but Petai Papan actually taste less strong than Petai Padi. The owner of this restaurant uses Petai Padi for their Sambal Petai. This really gives me a great satisfaction to my cravings.

Brinjal or we call it Eggplant. I never like eating Brinjal. The slimy texture of the vegetables is quite disgusting in a way. But honestly, this dish is well cooked. I've eaten even a few slices of it. But again, it's spicy. Perhaps that's the reason why it doesn't tastes as disgusting as I thought.

Last but not least, Assam Fish Head. Thinking of this dish, I'm drooling already. The sour taste together with the spiciness of the gravy.

We had the Cendol as desserts. This is quite disappointing. Guess it's because I have had the best cendol before this.

Overall rating of this restaurant, I will give 8/10. The fact is the dishes served are genuinely tasty with good ambience. On the pricing, I think that's what PJ prices are. I believe it could be cheaper. I'm not sure. But it's worth a place to visit.

Joss sticks at the temple

We often see joss sticks at the temple. People who pray at the temple will burn joss sticks to the God of Honour of the temple they are at.

I don't go to temple very often but I will do once in a while. Some will go on every first day and the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar. It depends on individual culture and belief I suppose.

I don't know a lot about the Chinese religion background but I thought it is good to get some blessings from the God of Honour at the temple I used to visit.

The temple I visit is often visited by overseas tourists and I find it interesting to see the Englishmen being so interested with our culture and take that as a scene of photography. I've decided to be one today as well. I hope my shot taken is not that bad.

Enjoy.

GoodSkin Labs - Circleplex-2

Dark circles, it is often the concern across all generation. Of course, it is also the major concern by myself.

I have dark circles under my eyes since I was very young. I think it's because of too much crying when I was a baby and not having enough sleep. Haha! Oh well, on top of that, I often do not get enough sleep since I started working and puffy eyes, dark circles etc are attacking me. It troubles me a lot. I've been using a lot of products and none of them can help much of it.

About few months ago, when I was browsing through the shelves of the local pharmacy, I was introduced by the shop assistant to the GoodSkin Labs - Circleplex-2.

The packaging comes with two compartments of cream. One for day use while the other for night use. The one for day use is a little tainted while the night cream is more moisturized.

After few months using the product, I do not think my existing dark circle has any reduction effect. What I believe is, at least, it has prevented my dark circles becoming worse. One plus point about this product is, it actually helps reduced my puffy eyes in the morning. Often, I wake up in the morning with very serious puffy eyes, however, after applying the cream by massaging it over the eyes, I could feel the immediate relief under my eyes.

This eye cream comes in the size of 10ml each for the day cream and night cream and it can last me for really a long time. It's worth the value to have it as part of my daily facial use.

As what I often believe, Good stuff are meant to be shared.

Pitbull - Timber (feat. Ke$ha)

It's going down, I'm yelling timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night, you won't remember
I'll be the one, you won't forget

What a catchy music this song has.

Thumbs up to Pitbull with the new song featuring Ke$ha. I seriously find Pitbull is really good at selecting the right female voice to feature in his songs. From the last Feel This Moment with Christina Aguilera, and it's now - TIMBER.

I can't stop playing this song through my music player. It is really a great song that could cheer my tiring day up. Good stuff.

Zumba Fitness

I'm not a ZIN neither a Zumba instructor.

I was introduced to Zumba by a friend of mine to a nearby dancing studio about a year ago. I wasn't sure what was Zumba at that point of time and I do not have any dancing background. I was worried initially. Whether I can do what is taught in the class? Whether I can follow the steps?

In the end, I went and join the class at the dancing studio. It was once a week. I'm really glad that in the class, I do not need to worry about the steps, neither do I need to worry about embarrassment, what I need is all about confidence and just move along with the music.

Slowly, I picked up the steps. I can't do any sexy moves but I suppose this comes with practices. My instructor is very good at giving instructions despite seeing me in a mixed and confused movements. Slowly, I'm in love with Zumba and I am very proud that I could make it through the one hour class every weekend without feeling tired.

One of my favourite numbers for Zumba Fitness is Fiesta Buena. The music is cheeky and the steps are easy to follow. I just love it.

However, my first Zumba instructor had decided to continue his studies overseas and then I've lost directions on where to go to for the search of new Zumba instructor.

Fortunately, I get an opportunity to join a gym club in town at a discounted price. In the gym, there are a few famous Zumba Instructors. I have chosen one who has classes on weekends due to my work commitment.

The class is packed and everyone is very good at Zumba. Guess they are in the class for a real long time. I'm glad to be able to continue Zumba with such a professional instructor. Indeed, I think having Zumba as part of my life, it has helped me to be able to set a target in  my life.

Recently, there is a new number released. Oh gawd! I love it so much! Dale dale.... dale dale.....

Zumba, has brought me certain level confidence. I wish this could benefit me in life.

I love movement. Yes, Zumba.

Malaysian Satay

The Malaysian Satay is amongst the most popular food in the tourists' eyes. Indeed, satay is really delicious.

This is the recent satay which I've had in Ipoh. Nothing special from the tastes. I am still in search for the best satay in the country.

HTC One Max Review

Phew! This is my first post on the review of HTC One Max. I am myself a HTC user. I've always been a Nokia phone user for almost 6 years. Over a year ago, I have decided to change to a new smartphone and at that point of time, I was deliberating between Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. They both are amongst the best smartphone in the market. The Apple iPhone is always out of my mind and hence, in the end, I've bought a HTC One X.

And now, the brand of the phone I owned has come out with another phablet that adds to its HTC One series - the HTC One Max.

The system of this phablet is of course the well-known Android 4.3 with HTC Sense. I do not have any doubts over the system, instead, I love it very much.

The key features of this HTC One Max inlcudes:
1. Dual-capture mode frames
2. Dual front-facing stereo speakers
3. Finger print scan

The most interesting bit of the phone is the finger print scanner built-in on the phone, which is located right at the bottom of the rear camera lens. It can be used to unlock the phone without any pins. The unique feature of this finger print scanner is that it can recognised up to 3 different finger prints. I'm not quite sure about the technical part of this feature, however, what crossed my mind was the practicality of this scanner.

To be honest, I think that the location of the scanner is kinda weird. It is not quite easy for one person to swipe the fingers over the back if the phone is front facing. Alright, may be I have short fingers. Perhaps, there are people who will appreciate this feature.

Another feature of this phablet which I think it's worth mentioning is the dual-capture mode. The camera of the phablet is not something with fabulous mega pixels. Instead, it comes with the HTC UltraPixel Camera which claimed to be able to capture higher quality than those with high number of mega pixels. Oh well, I can't comment much about it but the photos captured by this phablet is quite amazing as seen in other reviews. At least its aperture reading at F2.0 is a great achievement for a phone camera. I do believe it can capture great photographs. The dual-capture mode is of course giving us a hype in photography. You are able to capture both from the front and rear camera at the same time! Oh wow!

Overall, I think this phone is great but I do not have any plans to give up my HTC One X yet as it is still new and has recently updated to the latest software with the HTC Blink Feed feature. I'm still happy with it anyway!

But, as I said, good stuff is meant to be shared. I think HTC is a good phone with likeable user-interface.

A new light in my life being an instructor

It was 5 years back when I finished my high school, I was deliberating on what are the further education choices available for myself. I did not have a variety of ambitions at that point of time, but instead I had a clear mind on what I wanted to do.

I was a science student and I always think that science is a very interesting subject to begin with. However, I didn't get the chance to pursue further on science due to several reasons. I have a few teachers in my family. They have embarked the idea of teacher is the best occupation for a lady especially when she has a family, to my parents. Oh well, I have always in refusal to accept this idea and hence, I'm ended becoming an accounting student and am continuing it as my job that earns me a living.

Aiks... I shall stop dwelling too much about what was the past.

My company has added in a new KPI for us - to provide course delivery. Yes, it is elective and I was in dilenma. Shall I continue to volunteer to meet this extra elective KPI as promised earlier? ('Cos earlier I thought it was a core KPI to meet)

I didn't think too much and I just let things goes by by itself. One day, a L&D manager came to me to ask for my availability to instruct the interns who are joining our company soon. I asked on the timing and I thought it was a good timing and hence I promised and moved on.

Okay, so now, I've committed to instruct a course for the interns. What's next?

An email was sent to me and it reads "Instructors' Training Workshop". Wow! I need to be trained before getting on to become an instructor. What I did was to quickly browse through the participants of this workshop. OOHEEMGEEEE.... *childish thinking* I was in shocked that there would not be anyone I know in the workshop and the worst thing was, everybody else are managers and above!

I was almost the earliest at the workshop. Gosh, that's the obvious syndrome of a younger generation in the company. "The longer you are in the company, the later you will arrive at the workshop." Quotes by an instructor of the workshop.

Now, being post-workshop, I am actually glad that I am involved in the instructors' training workshop. Seriously I do, although initially I was very furious especially during the introduction/ice-breaking session, I could sense that glances are coming from every other participants showing that they are putting higher expectation on my presentation skills once they know that I am the ONLY senior in the room.

I've got some praises from the workshop. I'm seriously very glad. But I know I have some problem in speaking smoothly. Hiccups will be added somewhere in all the the sentence I wish to say. I need to practice more, I know. I haven't talk smoothly ever since I stop public speaking. Is this what happened when we are so engrossed in typing our speeches through words? Blame the computers.

Well, I think I'm pre...par...ed...

Whether or not I'm prepared, I have to deliver on what I've promised, isn't it? Confidence, it is deep in my heart. I need to dig it out to the surface in order to portray myself to become a good instructor and perhaps, become a real good instructor that receive good comment from the participants.

Instructing is different from teaching. At least, instructing is to use adult learning style to instruct the participants and I do not need to worry about how to handle the kids.

Wish me luck!

Restoran Goon Wah @ Jalan Kuchai Lama

Two years ago, I was introduced to try the special XO Fish Head Noodle at Restoran Goon Wah @ Jalaln Kuchai Lama by a friend of my dad.

I've always love to go to this restaurant to enjoy their fish head noodle but their operating hours has been on weekdays only. I will look forward to a public holiday which falls on a weekday so that I could enjoy the meal over there. But sometimes, it's hard... oh wells. And, today, I was on leave and decided to make a trip to the restaurant with my family. I'm so happy! :)

The fish head noodle from this restaurant is very tasty in the sense of the materials they used for the dish. They use sea water fish instead of fresh water fish. This is always at the advantage as some fresh water fish will carry a weird muddy taste depending on where the fish being bred. On the other hand, I love their soup base! Seriously! The taste of sour is just nice. That's awesome.

The noodle comes in two types - thin or thick noodle. I prefer the thick one but today we had the thin one. We could hardly see any noodle from the top. So many pieces of fish today! YUMMSSS!!!

They have other speciality as well, such as Claypot Lou She Fun, Honey Chicken Wing, etc etc. Many more. But we only had the fish head noodle with big portion. Oh, they come in small, medium and big size. The staff there will recommend you on how much to order depending your head count and how many dishes you ordered.

They do serve desserts too! Their desserts menu varies from day to day. We had Barley with dried beancurd today.

Lovely right? It wasn't too sweet. Although I'm not sweet-toothed, but I like how it was cooked.

Here's one good news to everyone who had the same feeling as I do (always looking forward to public holiday on weekdays). They are opening on Saturdays too starting from November 2013!

I saw this notice as I walked out from the restaurant. Wow! I was excited! Nice! I no longer need to wait till a public holiday to come! YAY!!

Wedding bells.

Lovely wedding cakes. I've just attended a lovely couple's wedding last night. It was really a touching wedding. They have been a loving couple for 10 years and finally they ended their relationship as girl-boy friend to become husband and wife.

Reflecting through their stories, I think being a loving couple relies a lot on each others effort. If one party do not put in the effort to make the relationship work out, the whole thing will not last. Appreciating each other is really important.

Wishing this couple of my friend to have a happy marriage.

Something has gone wrong

It's my usual practice to google something straight from the address bar on Google Chrome. However, I couldn't access to it after several attempts. I thought it was my internet connection error. So I decided to enter into google website by entering www.google.com.my on the address bar and that thing appeared!

What had happened? Google, please resolve this as soon as possible!

Nine to five

In the past one and a half week, I've been going through a nine-to-five working life. Okay, fine, that's not nine-to-five but at least it wasn't as long hours as my usual working hours.

In Australia, the government actually require the citizen to finish work at 5pm sharp everyday in order to promote work-life balance. How I wish I am living in such environment as well. Unfortunately I am in Malaysia. Yes, a country where employers promote work-life INTEGRATION.

I guess my employer has kinda successfully input work-life integration into my life and I prefer working late than to finish work at 5pm. Oh well, reason being that cars in Malaysia are getting more and more, or maybe is it because the place I am staying is over-populated? The jam is terrible. I'm getting old and my feet hurts when I am stuck in the jam and pressing on the brake while waiting. I feel so tired of that. At least when I finish work late, the traffic has recovered and I can just reach home without wasting much of time.

Oh well. What am I thinking?

Work-life balance? or Work-life integration?

Relationships

More often than not, quotes mentioned "Life is fragile". I think so do a relationship.

Relationship often happens when two parties attracts to each other when they both have something in common and this is usually being thoughts of view. However, will the same thoughts of view be the same all the time?

Recently, I've got two couples of friend experienced a broke up. I am certainly surprised to their outcome. They are both lovely couples to be seen. Oh well, like I said, relationships are fragile too.

The first couple grew up together and get into relationship some time during high school. They both went into different eduction path after high school but their relationship stayed strong. I thought they were really lovely. However, as soon as the girl started working, things has started to change. The viewpoint of life of the couple has changed and both started to have nothing in common. Arguments were then started more and more frequently. And in the end, they both decided to give up the relationship.

Another couple, getting to know each other during work and got together lovingly. Everyone thought they were cute couple. Really they do. However, they both decided to give up the relationship after one year. The reason being they have different view point towards life when one party has changed one's view point and thus they can't continue life together with each other.

Why change can cause such a drastic effect to a relationship? We can't adapt to change? Or we can't change together with the change we facing?

Grieved.

Sony Nex-3N

Being an amateur photographer, I've recently upgraded to a semi-pro camera - Sony NEX-3N.

I've been practising photography few years ago but I've been using ordinary digital camera. My first digital camera was bought when I was 16. Subsequently, I've been using three other digital cameras thereafter by slowly upgrading them through the specification which I wanted. The reason being for not having an upgrade to a better camera is that I can only afford digital cameras.

In recent years, semi-pro cameras are getting lower price and hence, I've finally gotten a great deal from a camera shop to get the new Sony NEX-3N, a Sony Alpha camera. The package comes with kit lens (16mm - 55mm) and zoom lens (55mm - 210mm).

This camera comes with 16.1 megapixel Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor which deliver images of DSLR quality. The quality of each photo captured does satisfy me.

There is another advantage of this Sony Alpha camera. Sony Malaysia provides workshops and events for Sony Alpha camera user. As this is the first camera of mine which uses manual settings, the workshops provided is an advantage for users like me!

Picking up photography is a skill that has a very abstract learning space. I wish this camera will help me to progress well into photography and of course one day later I will upgrade into a full DSLR camera.

Flickr

Flickr

I was recently been introduced to Flickr by a friend of mine. I was told that I could get a lot of inspiration by looking at the photographs shared by people around the world.

For the first time I logged in into Flickr, I used the mobile app on Android. I was truly amazed with all the photos shared.

Creating an account in Flickr is easy too! Just login using Facebook account or Google account. You can also login using Yahoo! account.

Amazing app, amazing people, amazing photographs. Good stuff.

Hello world.

It was at least 4 years since I last blogged. Yes. 4 years has past.

Why I stopped blogging? It was rather being I was out of time and there are many more social media available for myself to update my daily activities, etc. Lame excuses? Oh well, practically I was pure lazy.

2 years ago, I have planned to re-blog and apparently it didn't work out. I started working two years ago and my life turns out to be quite hectic and I always in search for time for myself. To relax, to day dream. I miss the days where I could day dream about everything under the sky. Oh! Those good old days.

Today, I've decided to start up this blog, to blog again, hopefully I'll get this space updated occasionally. As the title of this blog, The Pony Ride, it symbolises a pony wondering around throughout his life, seeing through various experiences and shares his experience wherever he goes. I wish to use this blog, to share my experience, my view point on certain things, etc. Nothing great but I appreciate comments and complements to help myself to improve and to be a better person as days goes by.

With much of appreciation,
thepony
